Sora Farm Newsletter – Vol. 5

Some of you may have noticed that we haven’t had komatsuna, which is one of our staple produce, for a while… we have been planting them and sharing (involuntarily) with slugs. Finally, we have some available this week! They are still relatively small but we will harvest in order to beat slugs.

Slugs are annoying but at least they are eating for survival. On Sunday, two crows came to our garden and messed up with some of our lettuce. Apparently, they just pecked and pulled them out but not really ate them. Luckily, we noticed before they destroyed everything and are still able to provide salad mix to you.

Here is what’s available from our farm this week and where you can get them:

Salad mix (pre-washed, mix of various lettuce, arugula and mizuna), komatsuna, curly green kale, chard, german butter potato, whole grain spelt and rye sourdough bread

  • Wednesday farm gate sale – at our farm from 10am to 1pm (1820 Seymour Rd)
  • Wednesday night market – at AGI hall from 3pm to 4:30pm
  • Saturday farmers market – at AGI hall from 10am to 1pm

For pre-order, please email us to sorafarmveggie@gmail.com.

Thank you and have a wonderful week!
