This week we have a good news and a bad news…

Let us start with a bad news. In our greenhouse, we noticed that some of the komatsuna and mizuna were eaten. Didn’t look like slugs. It shouldn’t be crows as the greenhouse doors were closed. We set several mouse traps, and caught 7 in two days! Sorry mice. Hopefully no more.
During our trip to Japan, farmers there told us that wild boars and monkeys often come to their farms and eat the crops. I guess we shouldn’t complain about mice and deers…

Now, the good news. We installed a grow light in our propagation house. We are hoping to have extended planting season this year especially for our salad mix. It is already showing effect as the lettuces we sowed last week started to germinate.
As we planned, we sowed arugula and radish outside, and started kale, cabbage, broccolini, collard and bok choi indoor. We also started some herbs indoor for the first time.

Our bakery is up and running. For pre-order of our sourdough bread, please click below to fill out the form or send us email to sorafarmveggie@gmail.com:
Days are getting longer. Let’s enjoy beautiful spring days!
