Sora Farm Newsletter-Vol. 30

Bees and ladybugs are back!

The rice that we planted on Mar. 23 have sprouted and are growing. A little guy pushing a chunk of soil made us smile.

Last week’s to do list #1 was: reset irrigation system. It took Kenji 2 days and it is up and running now. Unfortunately, it does not cover some areas, so we still have to water manually. To expand irrigation system will be our #1 to do list next year. Until then, we are using 2 watering cans we bought last year…

#2 in the last week’s list was to set up climbing nets for peas and beans. Our sugar peas were very popular last season along with origami boxes. So far they are growing well and we are hoping another successful season with them.

We brought some lettuces to the market last Saturday. They were grown over winter in green house. We will bring some this Saturday, too.

We added koji bread on our bread order form. Last Saturday we sold out both sourdough bread and koji bread earlier than expected. While it was good for us, we felt sorry for people who came and could not get any… If you place an order ahead, we are happy to set aside for you. For pre-order of sourdough bread and koji bread, please click below and fill in the form, or send us an email to sorafarmveggie@gmail.com.

Have a wonderful week!
