The rice plants in our garden finally look happy. We started them indoor on March 23rd and transplanted outside on May 4th. They were very slow to grow and tip of some of the leaves had started to become yellow. We were not sure if they survive or not… Now, thanks to the recent heat wave, they have grown and so alive!

Of course, weeds also grow, faster than our produce. This is our 3rd year of farming at the current location and we noticed the weeds we have in our garden changes every year. This year, we found horsetails for the first time. Our soil is very dry and hard and moist loving horsetails never grew… until now! So nice to see the sign of the soil improvement.
