Sora Farm Newsletter-Vol. 40

Last Saturday, we launched 2 new flavours for our bread!

For our sourdough spelt bread, we have introduced “Rosemary walnut”. With refreshing summer-like flavour of rosemary leaves from our garden and satisfying taste of walnuts, it goes really well with any meal, meat, seafood or vegetarian.

For koji bread, we have made “Sea salt kale”. We made kale chips with olive oil and sea salt, crush them, and put them inside. Kale chips have pleasant umami, similar to nori (roasted seaweed), and with sea salt, this is a perfect snack for a sunny summer day.

Both of them are available for limited time only, so please get them while you can!

Our farm gate sale is at 10am-1pm every Wednesday. This week, we have cabbage(6), shelling peas(4), snap peas(4), snow peas(4), zucchini(2), beet(6), radicchio(5), broccolini(5), salad mix(6), komatsuna(4), chard(4), 4 kinds of lettuce (see photos)(4), kale(4), collard(4), turnip(5). (Prices are in bracket). We also have some herbs (thyme, oregano, sage, tulsi) growing in our garden, available to order. Please place an order by the end of Tuesday through sorafarmveggie@gmail.com, or just drop by and let us pick what you would like. Address is 1820 Seymour road, Gabriola Island.

You can also place an order and pick it up at the Wednesday market, which runs at 3:30pm – 5:30pm at AGI hall.

Our market schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesdays 3:30pm – 5:30pm
  • Saturdays 10am – 2pm

For pre-order of our sourdough bread and koji bread for Saturday, please click below and fill in the form, or send us an email to sorafarmveggie@gmail.com.

We are going to take a break from baking bread for Wednesdays. We will bring delicious veggies but not bread for Wednesday markets until further notice. If you would like to purchase our sourdough bread, please come to Saturday market, or let us know if you need another pick up arrangement.

Have a happy Canada day week!
