Happy Thanksgiving Day!
In Japan, there is no national holiday called “Thanksgiving Day”, but traditionally, full moon in mid autumn is celebrated to express gratitude for the harvest. This year, it was October 6th.
We were hoping that the rice plants in our garden would grow some ears of rice by then so that we could use them for display. We sowed seeds in March, transplanted in May, and they did grow to some extent.
The photo below is the rice plants last week. No sign of ears at all…

Well, we are happy what we have harvested this year and celebrated under the beautiful full moon!

Last week, we introduced 2 more new products, Farmer’s baguette and Classic boule. We used raisin starter for them and result is softer, moist texture with a hint of raisin fragrance. Please click here for all the bread line-up with information on ingredients.

For miso making workshop, we have 3 spots on Mon, Oct.27 and 1 spot on Sun, Nov.2 available. For information and sign up, please click here.

I bought a loaf of your farmer’s brioche at the last Saturday market. It was delicious and a huge hit with my family.
