Created by Yoko and Kenji in 2021, Sora Farm is a small-scale mixed vegetable farm and micro-bakery on Gabriola Island, British Columbia. Because we believe eating whole foods is very important to maintain our healthy body and mind, we grow variety of vegetables and share the harvest with local community. Cultivated area is under one acre and we rely on mainly human powered tools to maintain our garden. We do not use chemical pesticides or herbicide, and our soil is given fertility by compost or organic fertilizer.
In 2023, Kenji started to produce sourdough bread. Bread has been made with sourdough for thousands of years because its fermentation process gives bread distinctive flavour, and it digests wheat flour even before we eat. Currently we market whole grain spelt and rye sourdough bread.
Yoko is a Koji advisor who learned (and is still learning) from Kojiflower online school based in Toronto. She is also a Holistic nutritionist. She loves to share the healthy and delicious traditions of Japan.
