Sora Farm Newsletter-Vol. 29

These are Kenji’s projects last week:

Kenji used to work for a Japanese manufacturing company in automotive industry and he loves to apply 5S to our farm operation. He built a shelf and a table for produce packing station with left over materials from our house construction. They are both very strong and sturdy. In fact, the shelf was so heavy that we had a hard time to move it to the right place after he built it on our deck… he should have built at the packing station from the start, which he did with the table.

His next project is this:

Current washing station to prepare our salad mix is this double sink outside. Although it has been working well, we want to move it inside of the green house so that we don’t have to suffer too much on rainy days or cold days. Also, we want to make it triple sink for cleaner and safer food for our customers. We will keep you posted!

Another news is that Kenji baked a cake for my belated (almost a month) birthday. It is a 100% rye bread filled with generous amount of chocolate chips and decorated with chocolate coating and chocolate ganache. Now the news is: he might fine-tune the recipe and make it our new product in future.

Last Saturday was a sunny day (although it was a bit chilly) and we were outside at the market. If it is not raining, we will be outside again this Saturday.

Have a beautiful spring week!

  1. Hello;

    I always seem to come late to the market and miss the Koji Bread these days.

    Could you please save 2 bags (of 3 each) for me and I will be there around 11? I don’t mind what flavour (they’re all good), but if there’s 2 different types that would be great. Let me know if you prefer I can etransfer you today to hold them? Otherwise I will bring cash.

    Thank you Christi
