Sora Farm Newsletter-Vol. 45

We had a long lasting snap pea season but finally, it is over… Thank you so much to those of you who gave us old newspaper. To show our appreciation, we are sharing how to make the box! Please click here to see it.

We had the first harvest of eggplant. We grow an Asian variety which is sweet and slender, with soft thin skin. We pan-fried it for dinner on Sunday. Here is the recipe. We also had the first harvest of cherry tomatoes.

For our farm gate sale this Wednesday at 10am-1pm, we have cucumber(2), salad mix(6), zucchini(3), kale(4), collard(4), chard(4), red reaf lettuce(4) (Prices are in bracket). We will probably have small amount of eggplants, cherry tomatoes and green beans. Please message us if you would like and we will confirm. Please place an order by the end of Tuesday through sorafarmveggie@gmail.com, or just drop by and let us pick what you would like. Address is 1820 Seymour road, Gabriola Island.

You can also place an order and pick it up at the Wednesday market, which runs at 4pm – 6pm at AGI hall.

Our market schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesdays 4pm – 6pm
  • Saturdays 10am – 2pm

For pre-order of our sourdough bread and koji bread for Saturday, please click below and fill in the form, or send us an email to sorafarmveggie@gmail.com.

Enjoy a slightly cool and possibly-some-rain week!

  1. please,

    may I have for Wednesday,

    1) 2 green beans (if you have any);

    2) 1 Russian kale.

    I will not make the 10a - 1p pickup.

I will be returning from Nanaimo in the afternoon.

If Kenji is at the market earlier than 4p to set up, and he does not mind me stopping by to pick up,

that would work great for me.

If he is open to that,

please let me know what is the earliest time he is ok with me stopping by.

    thank you !
